NCAT’s First Workshop of the Growing Season Focus Is Microgreens

There is a way to enjoy a bit of a harvest, even in the depths of a Montana winter. NCAT’s first in a series of workshops planned for the growing season in Butte will focus on microgreens.

Microgreens are the young tender seedlings of edible greens. They can be grown inside under lights or in a sunny window. One 11-inch by 14-inch space can yield several tasty salads or nutritious garnishes for your dinners.

NCAT’s John Wallace will talk about planting, varieties, and timing. The free workshop will be in NCAT’s greenhouse on Thursday, May 19, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at NCAT’s Butte headquarters, 3040 Continental Drive.

NCAT will also be holding its annual plant sale in conjunction with our second workshop of the season on Friday, June 3, from 3 – 7 p.m. The workshop will be on organic soil preparation for your garden, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
